I used to be borderline grossed out by oval nails. For years I'd only go for short, square nails, and no other shape was even an option.
After seeing how good Lana Del Rey's mani looked in Vogue UK's March issue, I finally warmed up to the idea and tried out 'dagger' nails.
I have small, childish-looking hands and this longer, pointed shape is actually very feminine and really helps elongate my fingers.
They definitely are not as mainstream as almost any other nail shape, and aren't really for the faint of heart. They've been described as 'talons' and 'witchy', which oddly seems to have turned me onto even more.
Now that I've tried them, I'm not going back.
My family and friends aren't really into them, but what do you think? Are you a fan?
